Meet the Researcher Behind the Files

Hey, I’m Amanda!

I’m the researcher behind The Case File Desk, a mom, lifelong true-crime enthusiast, and someone who has never been particularly good at leaving a rabbit hole alone. 😂

True crime has fascinated me for as long as I can remember, but what really draws me in is the research itself. I love tracking down original records, piecing together timelines, and figuring out how seemingly unrelated details connect. Sometimes, understanding the bigger picture means looking beyond the same headlines and going straight to the available documentation.

That curiosity eventually grew into The Case File Desk, my independent research venture built around following the paper trail and asking the questions that deserve a closer look.

I’m not a detective, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m an independent researcher who believes that details matter, sources matter, and accuracy matters. I want to uncover information others may have overlooked, help people better understand what the records actually show, and contribute to a more complete picture of the cases I research.

Behind every case are real people and real families. I never want to lose sight of that. My goal is to approach each investigation with care, distinguish documented facts from unanswered questions, and give readers the information they need to draw informed conclusions for themselves.

Here at Beyond the Headlines, you’ll find independent case research, public records, documented timelines, source-based findings, and the questions that keep me digging. I’m building The Case File Desk from the ground up, one record, one lead, and one rabbit hole at a time.

I’m proud of how far this journey has already taken me, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.

Give me a rabbit hole. I’ll follow the paper trail.

Welcome to Beyond the Headlines. 🖤
